Built in the mid 1800’s by the Filippo Stea family, it was used as their country home where they spent their long summer holidays. Here, amid the centuries-old olive trees and citrus groves, absolute quiet reigned supreme. Today you can still find that same quiet along with the scents and flavors of the Salento territory.
Casale Covile bed & breakfast is located in the Covile district, just a short distance from the oldest vestige of Christian art in Puglia: the Church of Santa Maria della Croce, also called the “Casaranello”.
One of the few artistic remains of the Byzantine domination in Salento, the Casaranello Church enchants with its precious Paleochristian Byzantine mosaics that date back to the V century.
Structure

On the outside, palms, olive trees and hedges protect, adorn and crown the large yard with veranda where one can enjoy the summer evenings, perhaps sipping an ice cold drink.

HOW TO REACH US
By car: Take the A14 highway and Bari Nord exit.
Continue in the direction of Brindisi – Lecce (state road SS 613). As soon as you enter Lecce, take the “Tangenziale Ovest” beltway exit toward Gallipoli. Continue to Ugento and follow indications for Casarano. Proceed 6.2 Km along the provincial road and you will find the entrance to Casale Covile on the right.
By train: Lecce Railway Station, transfer to the Southeastern provincial train to the Casano station.
By air: Brindisi airport (110 Km from Casale Covile).
Continue in the direction of Brindisi – Lecce (state road SS 613). As soon as you enter Lecce take the “Tangenziale Ovest” beltway exit toward Gallipoli.
