“The Macchiola” situated on a peaceful rural village of Spongano, is an organic farm, devoted to give hospitality. The natural vocation for reception of the owners, have converted the eighteenth century Masseria of family in a relaxant dwelling, that offers to the guests an pleasant and simple atmosphere of other times .
The gests can stay in independent typically furnished lodgings : double bedded rooms in B&B; two-roomed apartments ,all unique and of great atmosphere, that show oneself on the court; for the more demanding there is the Residenza (made up of: 3 double bedded rooms, 4 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, drawing-room).
Great relax in Italian-style garden where the breakfast in the summer is served , between box hedges, grand citrus plantation, oasis of palms, oranges and mandarins.
La Macchiola organize, courses of clay, of decoration and of cooking, even typical dinners.
The farm specialized in the “organic cultivation” of olive groves, owned by the same farm , is proposed to make to directly taste in the farm the Extra Virgin Olive Oil “La Macchiola”, and in the period October/December, is possible to participate to same day of olive-harvesting . On December 22nd ,in the rural Spongano village, there is the evocative “Festival of the Panare” where farm carts, decorated whit flowers , oranges , palms pass by the village, with a great traditional baskets (of rushes and olive-branch) lighted as a bonfire.

- sports days: riding, football, tennis near La Macchiola; excursion in boat and dives;- typical dinners;- beauty days at the Waters of S. Cesarea ;courses of clay, of decoration and of cooking; taste and sale of the farms products (Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, potatos,
capper, jams, eggs…….)

In winter: in the period October/December, is possible to participate to same day of olive-harvesting .

The rural village of Spongano (Lecce), is characterized for the Baronial Palace (XVII-XVIII century), Aristocratic Palaces, the Tower of the clock in the Vittoria Square , The Church Matrice (XIX century), the small Church of Congreca (XVII century), and many typical house “case a corte”.
The small village of Spongano, in whic La Macchiola rises, it is encircled , from a part, the great olive-trees of the Salento’s lands , and from the other, Castro’s beautiful sea, S.Cesarea’s Thermal baths , the archeologic place of Vaste, and from Salento’s Architectural beauties (Lecce, Otranto, Gallipoli, S. Maria di Leuca).
