“Il Loggiato” located inside an historical palace that dates back to the middle age, masters the Tronto Valley and the ancient Salt Road (dated back to the Romans) offering beautiful views of the surroundings from the National Park “Gran Sasso Monti della Laga” to the “Sibillini” Park .
The Palace made entirely of stone still preserves valuable architectonical elements, as the sixteenth-century three level arcade, with finely carved capitals and wonderful portals made of sand stone. The Palace owned by the Cappello’s family still preserves their coat of arms carved on a capital and on the monumental fireplace
Accumoli a small historical village entrenched in the XI Century, at the time surrounded by impressive walls 20 feet high, still preserves part of them with the remaining arched gates and the old tower.
The village located inside the national Park offers the main services as the pharmacy , post office, coffee shop and a minimarket and mostly a pleasant and relaxing stay.
Many are the historical buildings to appreciate, as palazzo Organtini (XVIII) with its fresco paintings, the church of S.Francesco (XIII ) with the monastery where San Francesco the Saint, stayed for the night in its way to Ascoli Piceno and the Church of the Addolorata (XIII ), Palazzo Marini (XVII) with a monumental fireplace and fresco paintings.
The village, surrounded by woodlands is dominated by a large plateau that with its meadows and woods extends up to the “Pantani” a protected area for the peculiarity and rarity of its wildlife. Many are the pathways that depart from the village, giving a large choice of walks as the
“Sentiero Italia “ that going all through Italy crosses our land coming from Umbria and proceeding into the Marche or the “Percorso naturalistico-sci da fondo” (naturl pathway-cross country skiing) that arrives up to the WWF humid natural reserve of “Lago Secco” protected for it’s unique and rare wildlife. An area where more than 1000 specimens have been recorded.
Of great scientific importance the triton alpestris, carnifex and vulgaris and the frog “temporaria”, “raganella” and “rana italica”. Furthermore the Salix pentandra and the Salix ofetida that risks to become extinct.
Not only it is possible to enjoy natural itineraries but also cultural and gastronomically ones.
We are located near Umbria and Marche and surrounded by small historical villages.
In 20/40 minutes it is possible to reach Amatrice (spaghetti alla Matriciana), Acquasanta Terme with its famous baths in use since the roman period, Norcia (20 Km) from which comes S.Benedetto founder of the “Benedettini”- and his black truffle, Cascia with the famous sanctuary of S.Rita, then Spoleto, Assisi (40 Km), Perugia, Ascoli Piceno (40 Km), S.Benedetto del Tronto with his beatiful beach (60 Km), Castelluccio di Norcia (20 Km) with the training school for paragliding, rafting kayak, horse back riding, tracking , mountain climbing and his lentils
For the winter time not far away there are sky resorts at Forche Canapine and Cittareale and really near the cross country skiing.

How to get there
Coming from the north or the south of Italy on the side of the Tirrenic Sea. Take Highway A1 Milan-Rome-Naples. Take the exit Fiano Romano near Rome and proceed along the Salaria Road ( SS4 ) in the direction of Rieti. Carry on toward Antrodoco, go past Posta and Apennines Pass of Torrita descending to the Adriatic side. Run along the Scandarello Lake and proceed toward Ascoli Piceno.
Around the km 42 of the Salaria ( SS4) you get to the crossroads to Accumoli
Coming from the north or the south of Italy on the side of the Adriatic Sea. Take Highway A14 Bologna-Pescara-Foggia. Take the exit San Benedetto del Tronto- Ascoli Piceno around km 311. Out of the toll gate go toward Ascoli Piceno and proceed in the direction of Rome along the Salaria Road (SS4). Go past Acquasanta Terme, Trisungo, Grisciano and around km 42 of the Salaria Road (SS4) you get to the crossroads to Accumoli
Accumoli is located on an hill side at an altitude of 900 m. above sea level. Proceeding along the Old Salaria Road you get to the main street Via Salvatore Tommasi and just before the old tower ( Torre Civica ) you turn left under the arch. Carry on proceeding out of the village for about five hundred metres up to a crossroad with a standing steel Cross. Turn right till you get to a fountain , then turn to the left and immediately after to the right up towards the ancient walls. At this point you are again inside the village and in a small square where at the left you will find “Il Loggiato”
