L'obelisco is located in the heart of Rome. Situated in San Giovanni area, just a few steps away from the famous Cathedral, near Fori Imperiali, Piazza Venezia and just 10 minutes walk from the Colosseo. L'Obelisco is located in an ideal position, strategic to easily catch up the major tourist attractions.
Our holiday home is situated on the 1st floor of a 19 century building. Recently restored all rooms are furnished in classic Italian style.From here you can easily reach all the principal sites of historical and artistic interest of the city and also the most famous areas for shopping. Public transports passes in front of the building where there are direct buses to Termini Station.
We offer a family type ambience for an unforgettable stay in the eternal city.
The house is called "L'obelisco" because in the middle of the square you can admire a magnificent obelisk. It is the third obelisk reused by Sixtus V. It was made in 1504/1450 b.C., found in the Circus Maximus, where the Emperor Constance put it in 357 A.D. It is the highest in Rome, 47 mt high!

How to get there
By train
L'Obelisco is only 700 metres from Colosseo and it is well connected to Termini Station. When you are in Termini Station, get the way out on the large square Piazza dei Cinquecento, where there is the terminus.
There you might get the bus 714 and get off at “Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano” stop. On the corner you can see a newsstand and in that way there is Via Merulana 137.
By plane
Roma Fiumicino Airport is linked to the city by motorway and also with a local train service called Leonardo Express that leaves every 30 minutes from Termini Station. When you are in Termini Station, get the way out on the large square Piazza dei Cinquecento, where there is the terminus. There you might get the bus 714 and get off at “Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano” stop .On the corner you can see a newsstand and in that way there is Via Merulana 137.
Roma Ciampino Airport is only a few bus stops from the tube station of “Anagnina” which takes to Termini Station. The journey to Termini takes about 20 minutes. Otherwise you might get the shuttle bus from Ciampino which has its terminus at Termini Station on Via Marsala. When you are in front of Termini Station in Via Marsala, get to the other side of the Station to Piazza dei Cinquecento where there is the terminus. On the large square Piazza dei Cinquecento. There you might get the bus 714 and get off at “Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano” stop .On the corner you can see a newsstand and in that way there is Via Merulana 137.
