B&B Mulino Barchio used to be a watermill, built around 1877. It was lovingly and tastefully restored a few years ago and now offers 4 very comfortable double rooms (2 can accommodate a third person), all with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean and all have outstanding views of Le Marche enchanting hills.
Our guests can relax, unwind or sunbathe in the garden surrounded by lovely cherry, apple, walnut and mulberry trees. We have a vineyard which produces the renowned “Verdicchio” white wine and a glass of our delicious wine is offered to our guests on arrival. There is a also a private lounge and a library at our guests disposal.
We speak both English and Italian and welcome guests with warmth and friendliness, while always respecting their privacy.
Mulino Barchio is located 3 kms outside Cupramontana in the heart of the countryside but also very close to local restaurants, shops and many picturesque little villages. We are 25 minutes from Ancona airport, half an hour from the sea and a few hours away from the major cities of Rome, Bologna, Venice and Milan.

How to get there
Mulino Barchio is just 4.3 kms from the motorway SS76 and only 3 kms from Cupramontana.
By plane:
Ryanair has daily flights to Ancona airport (Raffaello Sanzio, Falconara) which is only 25 minutes by car from our B&B. Other airports are Bologna (2 hrs by car) and Rome (3 hrs by car). There are several car rental firms outside the airport. Take the direction for Rome which will take you onto the free-toll motorway SS76 (see directions under ‘By Car’).
By car:
Motorway A14 Bologna-Ancona, exit Ancona-Nord. From Airport, take the free toll motorway SS76 in the direction of Rome/Fabriano, then take exit (Uscita) 11 for Apiro-Mergo and follow the directions for APIRO (NOT Cupramontana!). Once on the country road (SP9), drive for 3.5 kms, pass the petrol station (API) on the left and drive for another 800 meters. We are on the right-hand side of the road.
By train:
The station of Ancona has conections with the major Italian cities. The nearest station to the Mulino is Castelplanio (about 5 kms), on the Ancona-Roma track.
